I think Twitter is great for libraries. Tweets can be quick and short on
whats happening in the library and can linked back to the library website on news and events.

The Library of Congress Facebook page shares interesting news on what’s happening in the library. The post I chose was about NASA’s Dr. Pamela Conrad will discuss findings of the Mars Curiosity Rover project. Their Facebook page is for anyone who is interested in The Library of Congress. Podcasts my thoughts
I like Podcasts. Podcasts are great to listen to while you are on the bus and when you play games like Minecraft. They are great to catch up on aspects that you don't have time to read, like the video game news.
Podcasts would be great in the library scene. A library could have a Podcast every week on what's happening in the library. Staff and patrons could catch up on what's going on, so that they don't miss out. Library staff can also use Podcasts for meetings if someone is sick.

My experience on YouTube and TeacherTube
What did you like or dislike about the sites
I like YouTube, I use it every day watching videos on games and anything that is funny. I love how it is really quick to buff the videos compared to other sites. There is are few things I dislike about YouTube. One of the things I hate is that on the main page when you log in. They don't show what new videos are uploaded, they make you click on my subscriptions to access them. Another thing is I hate ads, but I have found a work around for that to block them.
On the other hand there is TeacherTube, were I think the site is good. It is more educational than YouTube, mostly showing how to do something. That's said I haven't used much of the site yet.
Why did you choose the video that you did?
The reason why I chose the video I used, was that it was interesting to what my blog was about and showed me what a robot did in a library.

There were no interesting on features and components that I could see.

The UMKC Libraries have uploaded up to nineteen videos to YouTube, with their last video was upload six months ago. Their videos are for library staff and students, who are interested in robots or aspects that is happening in the UMKC Libraries. The library is located at 800 East 51st Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64110 and you can you can send snail mail to their mailing address at 5100 Rockhill Road. You can also call them at there Service Desk, Music/Media, LaBudde Special Collections and Marr Sound Archives.That is why I think this YouTube video is authentic.

2013 CULINL601A & CULINS501A Exploring learning 2 wiki experience
After looking at and editing the wiki, I find it easy and simple to use, when editing and saving. wikis have change a lot since i used one, they have made them more friendly and more like when editing to look like Microsoft word.

ROS (Robot Operating System) provides libraries and they have tools to help software developers create robot applications.They provide hardware abstraction, device drivers, libraries, visualizers, message-passing and package management. The wiki can be translated in to 3 other languages, German, Korean and Japanese. I think this wiki is authoritative because they have a Google+ account here where they show some projects the staff are working on. The wiki gets up-dated from time to time, with the last update edited at 2013-07-18 22:22:07 by TullyFoote. Under the Support page on the wiki there are options When something fails, Suggestions when reporting issues/requesting features, Guidelines for questions and Guidelines for moderating.

What did you find interesting?
I found out that you can use wikis in a new way. In the YouTube video on Wikis in Plain English they used a wiki to organise a camping trip. I found that it is more practical and interesting than just using a research tool like Wikipedia.
What types of applications within libraries might work well with a wiki?
You could use a wiki to organise a event with a team and each person chips in what they can do.
So what's in a wiki?
You can have anything in a wiki, for example I used one when I was doing my IT studies for class notes. It wasn't an online version like Wikipedia but it was stored on my USB stick at the time.

Delicious
Its been awhile since I have used delicious, i can see the potential of this tool in the library environment by using this for interesting searches and using the tag function to find it later. it took a few minutes to find some of the options, it is a great tool have out side the library.
Mashups
Here is a mash up I put together of robots at TasTafe library. First I took of photo of the book shelf at the library and found some photo's on Google images that I could edit. Then I used Photoshop to put them together so that they fit in the picture.

What do you like about RSS & newsreaders?
How do you think you might be able to use this technology in your personal life?
How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this technology
The reason why i like about RSS feeds and newsreaders is that it makes it easier to see whats new on website by sending all new information to you instead of you going to find it.

For me on how this technology is helpful is that i like to visit a lot of video game sites and i could use this so that can get on big feed of all whats new in games in stead of scrolling through all the sites.
How can libraries use RSS or take advantage of this technology
The library can use this technology by the patrons subscribing to their feed on what is new that is happening to the library like new books that have came out, events at the library or new courses if it is a LINC.

On their blog/site they have articles about library technology like 3D printing in libraries, introducing the book as iPad app, establishing an e-reader lending program, purchasing e-books for your library and cloud computing for librarians for those who are interested for technology for their library. The authentication for their site is that they have contact details for their services on their about tab and there they have a link to their main site with their address with a link to Google maps to easily find where they are, telephone numbers, fax number and email on their about ALA link at the top of the page. They post up to two posts each month, the layout is simple and easy to use with list of recent blog posts, their contributors and an archive of their posts by month, that is why I think that this website is authoritative.

They have news about the library, resources for parents and caregivers via the explorer, and tools for educators via library links for anyone who is interested. The librarians at Skokie Library run the blog with a link to the library at the top of the blog that is based in Illinois USA with their address and contact details at the bottom of the page. The lay out for the blog is great and is easy to navigate with an archive of all there articles by moth on the right hand side of the page with couple of posts being posted daily that is why I think that this blog is authoritative.
